I am so pleased to be a part of the OLV community for the last 22 years. OLV is where I met my husband for the first time- right in the gym near the coat rack! OLV is where we were married, where my children received their sacraments, where my children go to school and, now, where I teach! God is great! I have been married for 15 years to my amazing husband, David. David is currently serving the parish as A member of the Knights of Columbus. Our children are Kaylee in 8th grade and Nathan in 6th grade. OLV is my place to be!
Knowledge of the body and sport is my passion. I have my doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Montana by way of a Masters from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. I have been a practicing PT for 20 years and have a board certification from the American Physical Therapy Association in geriatrics. In addition to my time at OLV, I am a rehab coordinator for inpatient hospital-based therapists and the comprehensive inpatient therapy team at MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital. I also spend some weekends and holidays as a practicing PT at Northwest Hospital.
I have always loved teaching! I love the look on my client's face when we work through something new to accomplish their goals. I embrace the challenge when teaching one of my amazing team members to a new skill. I cherished, when I was a GIFT instructor, the enthusiasm of the children in the religious education program of our parish when they discovered something new about God's love. I love the excitement I see our student's faces when they discover they can throw a frisbee straight, make a great pass in soccer, score in four square, or survive a game of sharks and minnows. It is this love of learning and teaching that led to the day I asked Mrs. Gorman if she would consider me for the physical education teacher position. I love every day with our kids and look forward to a great year!
